Hendrik. this was of great help to me, in my unusual situation. I have an Irish o2 branded, but unlocked HTC Desire. When I inserted my Polish operator sim form PLUS I could not get internet data. the transition from Irish to Polish SIM was seamless on my old unlocked iPhone. I googled APN settings for the Polish operator PLUS and it suggests www.plusgsm.pl as a name, along with specific DNS addresses. However the o2 branded HTC Desire does not have DNS options under the Add APN setting. I searched for hours and tried all sorts of settings, without success. I did not want to de-brand or root the phone. Finally I found this post and although the scenario does not match mine the solution works perfectly. I eneterd "internet" and "internet" in the Name and APN fields under Add APN, and immediately I got H and 3G connctivity. If I the spoke Polish language I may have got this info from PLUS support but as they dont carry this HTC model I wouldn't assume that either. Thanks a million Hendrik, or as it is December 2010, perhaps I should say "Thanks a billion" :)
